Women's Vintage Hats!

My grandma was a milliner. I was impressed. I still am. She worked in New York, making hats in the 1940's. How amazing is that?! I have always had a fascination with hats. I remember looking in my grandmother's closet and seeing all of her hat boxes. I don't have any hat boxes. I hardly own a hat; I own a few, but the "hat fashion" doesn't exist these days like it used to. I love watching old movies, the black and whites, and seeing the beautiful actresses adorning beautiful hats. Why did that fashion go out of style?

I found this amazing website, The Vintage Hattery, which has so much information about vintage hats and even sells many different styles. I believe it would be difficult to find a vintage hat these days, unless you peruse the vintage stores or garage sales.

One style that I love is the floppy hat. It is made out of wool or felt. I think that women look so unique in these hats. I think we, "fashionistas" should bring this fashion trend back.  When I wear a hat I feel good. I feel different. I feel that I have dignity. I don't know what it is about hats, but they certainly do add to a person's personality.
